Being Present

God is our Source Life, Love, & Being

Allowing us to Be Grounded, to Be Present, to Be Love.

I’ll be honest, I cannot tell you who God is or what God is. No one can really do that.

Our human language is woefully inadequate to describe God, and the human mind does not have the capacity to fully grasp it.

The best I can do is to say that God is the source of Love which is the power that enhances our life.

This Love never stops to calculate whether we are worthy of Love.

It does not stop to calculate if we are deserving.

It’s not Love that we have earned.

God is a Love that unites us as one out of diversity, offers wholeness out of brokenness, and gives us hope out of despair.

Paul Tillich (1886-1965) “God is the Ground of Being”. God is the Ground of our Being. Being with a capital B. Being Grounded, Being Present, Being Love.

Being Grounded: From the ground we are developed. We are “Adamah” earth of being. “Adamah” (Biblical Hebrew : אדמה) is a word found in Genesis, that translates as ground or earth.

Jesus told stories that used images of soil, seeds, sheep, fields, and trees to describe the kingdom of heaven.

In this way, he is telling us that heaven surrounds us here and now. God is the ground within us, around us, and in the midst of everyday life.

The parable of the sower asks us to consider our own grounding and the state of our own being, our inner soil, or inner Essence.

This grounding and recognition of our being allows us to be aware of the present moment.

Being Present is found within the sacred breath of connection. Being present is the greatest gift we can give.

Often when we are in the presence of another we are distracted. Our minds are racing, we check our phones, we are a million miles away.

Try at least once today to stay present to your family, friends, or project without distraction. Try for even 3 minutes to stay focused only to the person before you.

It’s not as easy as it seems with all of the chaos and distractions before us. But to truly be present shows you care and reveals your love.

Being Love is the third piece of being. Love is the Source of Life. “Adamah” is our substance, “Eve” is the source of life, God is the deepest Essence of that love.

When we are grounded and fully present, we are living fully as the source of love, the source of life. It is this unconditional love, living in awareness moment by moment, that makes God visible.

As St. Augustine proclaims, “Our heart is restless until it rests in you Lord.”

To rest in God without worry, without distraction, without overthinking is to

Be Grounded, Be Present, Be Love. A way to experience and share heaven here on earth moment by moment.

Until next time my friends remember every breath you take is a breath of God and a shared one with All my Relations United as One.
